As a professional organizer, my job is actually the opposite: helping people let things go. Getting rid of clutter, unnecessary belongings, and everything that’s taking up space for no reason. Real luxury isn’t owning more—it’s having space. Space in your home, space in your mind, and room to breathe.
But I’ve noticed one thing: the right organizer can change everything. An open basket within easy reach for paperwork, a storage box under the bed for keepsakes, a glass jar for pasta… Suddenly, almost like magic, everything becomes easier.
Why? Because we’re all a little lazy.
And there’s no point fighting it. Quite the opposite! It’s much smarter to create systems that work with our natural habits. Clutter often builds up because putting something away takes one extra step. So the mail ends up on the table instead of inside the cabinet. Socks stay on the floor because the laundry basket is too far away.
The solution? Put the laundry basket where the socks naturally end up. Place an open organizer where you usually drop your papers. And just like magic, things almost put themselves away. If you naturally leave your keys on the table, why hide them in a drawer?
Organization should be effortless. Otherwise, we simply won’t stick to it.
